David Winfield BSc. (Hons) Economics & Politics, PGCE, QTS.
David is former Deputy Head and is the the founder of the Independent Schools Portal and editor of innovatED magazine and the weekly ISP eNewsletter. As well as his work with the Portal, David works as a Year 6 teacher at an Academy Trust school in Wakefield where he is putting his ideas around the 21st Century Classroom into practice to inspire and enthuse all pupils in his care to develop in well rounded, awesome, human beings and life-long learners. |
David is a prolific writer and blogger as well as being an engaging speaker on all things education. His speciality is providing practical guidance on making the curriculum, lessons and learning more engaging, creative, relevant and effective, and giving teachers the confidence to step outside of their comfort zones and take calculated risks.
David also has a deep and intimate knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum for England and his consultancy was instrumental in developing and constructing the assessment frameworks used by the Assessment Foundation for Science, Design & Technology, Computing, History, Geography, Art, Music, Physical Education and Languages. This work is used daily in over 2,000 primary and preparatory schools and forms a large element of the Progression Beyond Levels Assessment Framework for Primary Schools.
