In this session, John explores what you should expect when ISI call and how you and your team should respond. John also discusses: Inspection timings • Your inspection team • What information is required following the call • What the Reporting Inspector looks at pre-inspection • What needs to be on your school website • Practical requirements of the inspection team whilst onsite • How wellbeing is linked to the report and framework

In this session, John explores the structure of the inspection report. He goes into detail in areas such as: Evidence gathering • School culture • Inspection evaluation • Leadership and management, and governance (including possible questions for Governors) • Pupils' education, training and recreation (evidence sources) - including possible questions for academic staff • Pupils' physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing (including possible questions you may be asked) • Pupil voice • Pupils' social and economic wellbeing and contribution to society (including possible questions)

Safeguarding underpins the whole inspection report and should be embedded across the school. John discusses: Whether your school is meeting statutory requirements • Systems, processes, training, record keeping and identification of risks • Possible questions you may be asked about safeguarding • General questions staff may be asked • ISI Framework at a glance

Section 5: Your report

Part 5: Your report
You should instantly recognise your school when you read your inspection report and John will walk you through what your report will look like. This includes: The language you can expect and what it means • Reviewing other school reports on the ISI website • The summary of the summaries form the basis of the report - and this must be agreed by the whole inspection team • Inspection prompts used by inspection teams • The report outline • Common inspection failings (particularly the Single Central Register)
