Robert is a highly experienced Head and inspector known for his good humour, passion ans team-building. Robert has worked with Heads and leadership teams on self-evaluation and inspection preparation and is a self-confessed technophile.
Robert Lilley BA(Hons), PGCE
Robert has over 30 years’ experience in education and over 20 years’ experience as an independent school Head. He has taught in KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4, 6th form and FE in a range of school and colleges. He was a late entrant to teaching having worked as a graduate trainee manager in an agricultural merchant where he gained valuable commercial and business skills. He was also in sales and training with a computer supplier where he forged his passion for IT. Robert was one of the original NCSL graduates on the Strategic Leadership in ICT course.
Robert is new to the world of educational consultancy having very recently retired from the Grammar School at Leeds where he had been Head of Junior School for 10 years. He has 20 years’ experience as an inspector with ISI and has previously served on the national SHMIS Junior Heads’ committee and the IAPS Membership Committee. He is a governor at a Leeds primary academy where he has sat on exclusion panels and complaints panels. He has also led the recruitment of senior personnel including Heads.
