ISI Inspection

The new ISI Inspection Framework came into fruition in September 2023. Since then the feedback from schools and leaders has been fantastic. The removal of single word judgements and the focus on collaboration with the school has been well received. In fact some may argue that the state sector could do well to take a leaf out of the Independent Sector's book and look to use this instead of OFSTED single word judgements that cause undue stress.

Whilst the new framework for Inspection in Independent Schools has been well received there is no doubt that any school inspection is stressful. ISI inspectors, do their best to make the visit as calm as possible however as is the case for any organisation that is being looked at there is always a level of intensity - never more so than in schools where the leaders are desperate to showcase the hard work and dedication their teams put in.

We hold a regular one day course looking at the ISI New Framework. This course is excellent CPD for schools who are being inspected by ISI. It looks at the whole inspection cycle from the preparation before hand to on the day and communicating the outcome. The ISI Framework is large and understanding it and ensuring you have the correct evidence for the inspectorate team is important.

On our course for Independent School leaders we limit the numbers to 30 - this is in order to ensure a collegiate classroom style approach. We want to encourage debate and sharing of best practice amongst the Indepenendent School leaders. Headed by an expert in the field,who is regularly deployed by ISI as a team inspector this enables much needed CPD and time out of the school environment to spend a whole day focussing on the new ISI Inspection Framework.
